One of the many cool things about the Specialty Equipment Market Association show in Las Vegas is the proliferation of new products. At the 2023 show, the official New Products Showcase exhibited many new EV products. Three of those items were EV chargers and they all had a commonality. The shared feature: level 2 charging capability. Here’s a look at these three new level 2 EV chargers.

With the world’s largest collection of new automotive products, the SEMA Show was the perfect place for the following three companies to roll out these new EV chargers.

CTEK ULTIUM PowerUp+

The CTEK company is a leader in global vehicle charging solutions. The company was started in Sweden in 1997. In 2004 the company launched its products in North America. In 2018 CTEK acquired Swedish electric vehicle charging specialist CHARGESTORM. This has helped CTEK become one of the market leaders in the fast-growing EVSE (electric vehicle supply equipment) market. The company’s new ULTIUM PowerUp+ is a level 2 charger designed and engineered for GM vehicles. It offers 19.2 kW/80-amp output. The charger has a 25-foot charging cord with an SAE J1772 charge connector. The charger has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. Furthermore, its UL Certified and has the Energy Star Certification.

ICD Design J+ BOOSTER 2

ICD Design has been around since 2017 and it has manufacturing and sales operations in Nevada and Texas. The company is a leading manufacturer and supplier of products and solutions in the automotive, 4×4, commercial vehicle, and electromobility markets. Its newest EV charging product is the J+ BOOSTER 2. The charger is billed as “ultra-portable for everything and everywhere.” It works with all electric vehicles and the Bundle Set comes ready to use with NEMA 14-50 and 5-15 adapters. The charger offers level 2 charging output with six amperage settings up to 9.6 kW/40 amps. The Bundle Set also includes a sturdy wall bracket. Also, the IP67-rated charger works in all weather and conditions, and its military-grade aluminum housing can withstand wheel loads over three tons. The J+ BOOSTER 2 has a 25-foot cord. Additionally, the charger is available in a Value Plus Set and Value Set.

Battery Tender Level 2 EV Charger

Deltran is a family company that has been around since 1965. The company is well known for its Battery Tender battery chargers, jump starters, solar chargers, and power inverters. Its new product is the 48-amp Battery Tender Level 2 EV Charger. It’s wall mountable and has a NEMA 14-50 plug. Moreover, the unit offers rapid 240V charging. The weather-resistant unit can be used indoors or outdoors. Furthermore, it offers up to 11.5 kWh charge speeds.
