Hybrid-Powered 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Pricing And MPG Revealed

Share this:

Back in August 2023, we told you about the all-new, hybrid-powered, rear locker-equipped 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser. At that time, some info like base price and mpg numbers hadn’t been released. Well, that info has now been unveiled by Toyota.

What is the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Base Price?

Toyota says that the base price for the 2024 Land Cruiser is $55,950. This price is for the 1958 grade. This grade is reminiscent of Land Cruisers from the past. It has retro aesthetics with round LED headlamps, heated fabric seats, and the iconic “TOYOTA” heritage grille. The 1958 grade offers a healthy set of off-road-centric features. These include standard locking center and rear differentials, rear coil springs, and full-time four-wheel drive. Additionally, a two-speed transfer case and Toyota’s impressive CRAWL Control. The grade also includes a powerful 2,400W AC inverter, standard trailer brake controller, Smart Key System with push-button start, and Blind Spot Monitor. Furthermore, a 7-inch full-color multi-information display, automatic climate control, five USB-C ports, an 8-inch Audio Multimedia Touchscreen, and a six-speaker sound system. Finally, there’s compatibility with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

What is the Land Cruiser’s Combined MPG Rating?

One of the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser’s most talked about features is the standard hybrid powertrain. The i-Force Max powertrain contains a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that has an electric motor nestled in the bellhousing between the motor and transmission. The electric motor generates 48 hp and draws from a 1.87 kWh NiMH battery pack. Combined, the powertrain generates 326 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque. That’s darn respectable output. Toyota hasn’t released where that power will peak in the Land Cruiser’s rpm band. However, the 2024 Tacoma is getting a similar i-Force Max hybrid powertrain and Toyota says a low 1,700 rpm is the magic number for that vehicle. Toyota says the Land Cruiser has received an EPA-estimated 23 mpg combined rating which is a higher combined MPG rating than any previous iteration of the vehicle.

More about the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser

The 2024 Land Cruiser uses the TNGA-F global truck platform. This is the same body-on-frame platform used for the Tundra, Sequoia, and Tacoma. The high strength boxed frame can handle even the most challenging environments. In fact, the fortified frame, combined with the i-FORCE MAX powertrain, gives the Land Cruiser a towing capacity of up to 6,000 pounds. The Land Cruiser will be available in three grades. There’s the Land Cruiser 1958, Land Cruiser, and First Edition. The First Edition will be limited to 5,000 units in North America. The new Land Cruiser is smaller and less expensive than its predecessor but sports a spec sheet that includes a vast number of items to carry on the Land Cruiser’s on- and off-road reputation. Finally, the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser will be available in spring 2024.
