Gas Monkey Garage Jolts A Legend: Electric Ferrari “Testa”

Gearheads and green enthusiasts, listen up! Gas Monkey Garage, the crew behind the hit show “Fast N’ Loud,” has teamed up with Legacy EV to create a new-fangled masterpiece that shatters boundaries: the Testa. This green machine started life as a prized 1989 Ferrari Testarossa, a supercar that needs no introduction. But the team at Gas Monkey Garage wasn’t content with its legacy – they envisioned a prancing pony powered by electricity.

The result? A one-of-a-kind “Electro-Mod” that combines the timeless design of the Testarossa with the cutting-edge performance of an electric vehicle. This isn’t just about slapping a battery in a classic car; it’s a full-fledged conversion that pushes the envelope of automotive customization.

From Prancing Horse To Electric Ferrari Testa

The transformation is nothing short of impressive. Legacy EV’s expertise comes into play with a custom battery pack utilizing 36 Kore Power Modules and a Cascadia Motion iDM-190 motor. This electric heart gives the Testa a surprising kick – a whopping 300 horsepower and 386 lb-ft of torque. That’s more muscle than the original V12 engine swilling dino juice!

But the magic goes beyond raw power. The Testa sheds nearly 400 pounds compared to its gasoline-guzzling past, making it a lighter and more agile beast. It boasts an estimated range of 170-225 miles, perfect for weekend getaways or city commutes with zero emissions.

A Collaboration Built For The Future

Richard Rawlings, CEO of Gas Monkey Garage, readily admits the Testa was a bold vision. “We broke the boundaries on this build,” he says, “and the final product is a testament that the next wave of vehicle customization is embracing EV conversions.”

This project signifies a significant shift in the automotive world. It proves that classic cars and electric technology can coexist beautifully. Legacy EV’s role is equally important. As Rob Ward, CEO of Legacy EV, puts it, “Working with Gas Monkey Garage confirms that Legacy EV is heading in the right direction and building the future of EV.”

The Testa is more than just a car; it’s a symbol. It represents a future where we can cherish the past while embracing a cleaner, more sustainable tomorrow. It’s a future where innovation meets nostalgia, and where the roar of an engine is replaced by the silent surge of electric power. The Testa is a glimpse into a world where anything is possible, and where even the most legendary rides can be reborn anew.
