Earlier last year, Vanderhall opened the order banks for its first-ever electric off-roader, the Brawley. The company recently released a video where the electric 4X4 tackles challenging terrains in extremely frigid conditions. Throughout the video, we are greeted by cinematic shots of the off-roader as it tears through the snowy landscapes of Utah.
The company claims that the all-electric powertrain of Vanderhall Brawley will offer 200 miles of range. The 40 kWh battery pack of the electric 4X4 produces 400 HP of maximum power and 480 lb-ft of peak torque. Customers can also opt for a 60 kWh unit which will be an optional upgrade of extra juice.
The automaker started taking orders for Vanderhall Brawley back in July 2021, and the deliveries will probably begin sometime later this year. Brawley’s cabin can accommodate up to four passengers. The high-power electric drivetrain of the off-roader is mated to a backbone frame first popularized by the Lotus Esprit.
In addition to a four-wheel independent suspension, we also find four electric motors (one for each wheel) that propel the EV’s giant all-terrain tires. Vanderhall Brawley also gets four-wheel steering, tank turns, electronic hill descent, and crab walking.
The company will offer its all-electric off-roader with an onboard 6 kW charger, and Brawley will also get DC fast charging capability. The pièce de résistance of this electric off-roader is its flat-tow regenerative braking capability, which will ensure that you never run out of juice when you are taking the road less traveled.
