What you’re looking at is the Avvenire Tectus electric all-wheel-drive mobility scooter. The all-weather Tectus has an enclosed cabin, air conditioning, a heater, and more. It even has the capability of being charged wirelessly. Is it the ultimate electric mobility scooter?

The Aging Population is the Largest Demographic

Avvenire Electric Vehicle International Corp., maker of the Tectus, notes that the aging population is the largest demographic. Thus, there’s an increasing need for year-round transportation. According to Sarah Mitchell, a senior analyst at Mobility Market Insights, “The global mobility scooter market has been on an impressive trajectory, it is expected to continue its robust growth, reaching an estimated $7.2 billion by 2025. This growth is driven by the increasing aging population and the rising demand for convenient and eco-friendly personal transportation solutions.” Avvenire notes that over the last two decades, innovation in the mobility scooter industry has not kept pace with other vehicles. Avvenire aims to change that by introducing its state-of-the-art Tectus electric mobility scooter. Seniors can now travel comfortably in various weather conditions, such as cold, rain, or heat.

The Avvenire Tectus Electric All-Wheel-Drive Mobility Scooter is Available in Two Versions

The Tectus is available in two versions. The Deluxe model is approximately 78 inches long, 40 inches wide, and 70 inches tall. It has a 55-inch wheelbase and a rear track width of 30 inches. The Deluxe can haul approximately 386 pounds of payload and it has a curb weight of 496 pounds. It makes 2,000W of power and has a 2,400 kW battery. The unit is priced at $6,995 (base) and includes air conditioning and a heater.

The Ultimate is Wider and has a Bigger Battery

The Tectus Ultimate has a width of approximately 42 inches, which is 2 inches wider than the Deluxe model. Other than that, it shares the same measurements as the Deluxe. The Ultimate has a payload capacity of approximately 352 pounds and a curb weight of 551 pounds. It has 2,000W of power, but it gets a much larger 5,400 kW battery. This larger battery helps power the additional standard features of the Ultimate. These features include a back up camera with sensors, safety lighting, GPS tracking, and tire sensors. Optional features include solar charging, wireless charging (no need to bend over to plug the Tectus in), finger scan keys, and cup holders (hot and cold). Of course, the Ultimate gets air conditioning and a heater like the Deluxe model but adds a cabin air filter. Base price is $8,999.

Commonalities Between Models

Both models of the Tectus have an enclosed cabin, dual-motor setup, and all-wheel drive. Furthermore, a full throttle and reverse function. The Tectus has a lithium battery that provides a range of up to 99 miles. Top speed is said to be 20 mph. Additionally, the Tectus has numerous cargo options. The Tectus mobility scooter serves as year-round transportation and can cater to activities such as grocery shopping and the transportation of pets. Additionally, it proves to be a suitable last-mile city cargo vehicle. Avvenire says that the Tectus doesn’t need insurance or a license for operation. The company says it adheres to the federal laws in most countries and can be used as a mode of transport on sidewalks or on the road where a sidewalk is not present.

Seniors Can Travel in Style and Comfort

Aldo Baiocchi, President of Avvenire, says, “The Tectus, with its advanced design and AWD system, can take you anywhere, anytime. There’s nothing quite like it. Now, seniors can travel in style and comfort without the need for traditional charging. The future of mobility scooters is here.”
