Verge Motorcycles will utilize Tesla’s NACS, Verge has announced. This is momentous because the company says it’s the first in the electric motorcycle industry to adopt Tesla’s connector. Chalk up another win for NACS.
A Natural Solution for the “Tesla of Motorcycles”
The decision by Verge Motorcycles to use Tesla’s NACS connector mirrors that of numerous auto manufacturers in recent weeks. The list includes Ford, General Motors, Rivian, and Volvo. Marko Lehtimäki, Chief Technology Officer at Verge says, “We have been following with interest the discussion about the future of the charging infrastructure and Tesla’s decision to open up its NACS charging standard. Providing our customers with a comprehensive and easy fast charging system is vital in terms of Verge’s growth. We are currently preparing to enter the US market, and as the Tesla of motorcycles, this decision seemed like a natural solution for us.”
Attention-Grabbing Specs of the Verge TS Pro
Verge Motorcycles will utilize Tesla’s NACS in its lineup. The lineup currently includes the Verge TS, Verge TS Pro, and Verge TS Ultra. Looking at the mid-range Verge TS Pro specs is an eye opener: 737 lb-ft of torque, 0-62 mph in 3.5 seconds, and top speed of 124 mph. If that’s not enough of an attention getter, check this out: the Verge TS Pro has a range of up to 217 miles, and it’s said to DC fast charge from 0-80 percent in only 35 minutes.
Verge TS Has Four Driving Modes
A large, integrated touchscreen is standard on the Verge TS models and it contains important data and metrics. The screen displays items such as speed and driving mode at a glance. And speaking of driving mode, the Verge TS offers Range, Zen, Beast, and Custom modes. Range maximizes ride time, Zen is for smooth and relaxing cruising, Beast is max power, and Custom allows you to dial the bike to your specs.
Verge TS Hubless Rear Wheel
Aside from its riveting looks, the Verge TS features a wild design that includes the electric motor integrated into the back wheel. This design offers a very low weight distribution that makes the bike feel more nimble and light, creates more space in the middle of the bike for the battery pack, and the hubless design allowed designers to remove all moving parts like chains and cogwheels.
Verge Motorcycles Will Utilize Tesla’s NACS and it’s One More Reason You Want One
