When you think of Lincoln Electric you probably think of welding. Well, now you can think of electric vehicle fast chargers, too. The company has introduced the Velion DC Fast Charger. This system streamlines operations for charge point operators and EV fleet businesses, ensuring both speed and reliability.

About the Velion DC Fast Charger

The Velion DC fast charger delivers fast charging speeds reliably. The result is performance and uptime. It’s designed with industrial-grade components and leverages Lincoln Electric’s vast experience. That experience includes more than a century of designing, testing, and building high-quality industrial equipment. Also, more than 50 years of experience manufacturing rugged, reliable electric power conversion systems for outdoor operating environments. The Velion DC Fast Charger has a DC output voltage of 200-1,000V and its output current is up to 150A. Output power is up to 150 kW. The new Velion DC fast charger exceeds 75 percent domestic content. This device delivers 97 percent uptime and boasts an output of up to 1,000V/150A and 500V/300A, with a charging efficiency of 95 percent. It’ll operate in a wide range of temperatures, from -31 degrees F to 122 degrees F. Additionally, its backed by Lincoln Electric’s U.S. multi-point service network.

Velion Power Tower and Velion EV Charger Pedestal

The Velion EV Charger Pedestal is paired with the Velion Power Tower. The pedestal has a 12-foot cable with a single CCS1 cable. It has a 15-inch LCD high-contrast touchscreen, and it authenticates payments via RFID, a credit card reader, and app. The Power Tower has a modular design that accommodates flexible layout configurations and ensures quick service and repair. The Power Tower is a freestanding cabinet that has four mounted eyebolts for easy maneuverability and installation. The pedestal and the Power Tower enclosure are IP54 rated. Need more than one charging cable? Lincoln says that a dual cable EV Charger Pedestal (pictured) is coming soon.

Velion is Designed for Charge Point Operators

“The Velion is designed to meet the stringent needs of Charge Point Operators (CPOs) who install, operate and manage networks of charging stations as well as businesses with EV fleets requiring reliable, fast charging,” said Steven Sumner, Vice President, Corporate Innovation, Lincoln Electric. “Our DCFC charger is also the first and only American-designed and American-made EV charger to not only meet, but exceed, the requirements of the federal government’s National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Formula Program (NEVI).”

Customization, Branding, and Factory-Trained Technicians

Lincoln offers complete customization of the pedestal design, suitable for dual branding or custom designs. The company also offers a service network of factory trained repair technicians at locations across the U.S. Furthermore, Lincoln has scalable production capacity that can meet the demands of the expanding EV market.
