Mazda has unveiled an eye-popping compact sports car concept called the ICONIC SP. It has many interesting design and technical features, but one of the most fascinating is the car’s powertrain. It’s actually called “Viola Red.” The company focused on making a vivid color, while creating a sense of shade that accentuates the shape of the car. The ICONIC SP is approximately 165 inches long, 73 inches wide, and 45 inches tall. The car’s wheelbase is approximately 102 inches. The car has an approximate weight of 3,197 pounds. For comparison, the 2023 Mazda MX-5 Miata is approximately 11 inches shorter in length, almost 5 inches narrower in width, and over 3 inches taller. Additionally, the Miata’s wheelbase is approximately 11 inches shorter than the ICONIC SP’s. Finally, the Miata (with automatic transmission) weighs approximately 794 pounds less than the ICONIC SP.
