Electric vehicles were a big part of the 2023 Specialty Equipment Market Association show in Las Vegas, Nevada. It seemed everywhere we turned there was a cool EV. There was also a deluge of new EV products. We made a beeline to the show’s official New Products Showcase and headed right for the electric vehicle section. What we found was a mix of products including tools, a battery pack, charge cord protector, and much more. Read on for a look at eight new EV products from the 2023 SEMA Show.
Design Engineering, Inc. EV Charge Cord Protector
Design Engineering, Inc. is well known for manufacturing and distributing premium quality heat and sound control products. The company also has a new EV Charge Cord Protector, and it offers two major benefits. First, it protects an EV charge cord from damage, crushing, and abrasions. Second, its high-visibility orange color creates much better visibility for the cord, reducing trip hazards. The cord protector fits 3/4- to 1-inch-diameter cables and measures 20 feet in length. It uses a split design so it can be easily installed without removing the cable. The cord passes UL94, FMVS302 flammability tests.
Fellten UBP55E 55 kWh Universal Battery Pack
The Fellten UBP55E is a 55 kWh engine bay battery system. This battery system, available from Legacy EV, fits under the hood of most classic larger vehicles. The 350V system has a 245 kW peak output, which translates to plenty of energy for powerful motors. It has integrated battery management, CCS charging and control, a high-voltage pre-charge circuit, and contactor control. Furthermore, a service disconnect fuse, multiple auxiliary outputs, cutting-edge thermal management capabilities, three 25A auxiliary outputs, and more. Total weight of the battery pack is around 705 pounds, and it has a CCS charge rate of 70 kW.
JackRabbit XG Mini Motorbike
The JackRabbit XG is a mini electric motorbike. This pedal-less machine has a 500W rear hub brushless electric motor and a pair of 36V 4.2A 151.2 Wh Li-ion batteries. It has a thumb-activated throttle, a top speed of 20 mph, and a range of over 20 miles. Riders can select from three power levels and there’s a multi-function backlit display to monitor items like speed and mileage. Furthermore, one of the XG’s many features is that it folds flat to 7 inches in width. This means its mega portable so it can travel with you. And speaking of traveling, the motorbike is also said to be plane-friendly (FAA-compliant). It has 20-inch all-terrain tires for added grip off-road and its weight is only 32 pounds. Bonus: It ships fully assembled and includes the battery charger.

The Ice Cube 3D lights use quality Osram Olson Black Flat LED chips.
Sprint Booster V3
The Sprint Booster V3 addresses delayed throttle response and subdued acceleration on cars with drive-by-wire technology. The device improves acceleration by continuously measuring and converting the digital signal provided by the ETC’s potentiometer. It then provides the ECM with a new and altered signal. The V3 improves response, increases pedal input sensitivity, and improves off the line performance. The device is plug-and-play and does not affect other electronics in the vehicle. The V3 has 36 vehicle-specific programs, and the controller can be removed for a clean install. The newest model fits the 2021-up Tesla Model S.
