If you like good deals, here you go. In celebration of National Drive Electric Week, Nxu Inc. is offering $1 EV charging at its powerful Nxu One Megawatt+ Charging System outside the company’s facility in Mesa, Arizona. Those wishing to take advantage of this offer can do so 24 hours a day from September 28 through October 1.

Nxu One Megawatt+ Charging System is a Powerhouse

The Nxu One Charging System is the only universal, dual-technology solution available for public charging. It’s capable of delivering more than 700 kW of universal charging. It supports up to 50 kW of bi-directional AC power and 4.5 MW of bi-directional DC power. The charging system adapts to any vehicle that supports CCS. This applies to EVs from cars to semi-trucks. It’s worth noting that this is the Nxu One’s first public EV charging field trials.

How and Where to Access the $1 Charging Deal

Here’s how you can take advantage of Nxu’s $1 charging deal. First, create a Nxu One charging profile with payment information. Then, visit the company’s manufacturing facility at 1828 N. Higley Road in Mesa. The site is open 24 hours a day, but Nxu staff will be onsite from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. during opening weekend to assist customers. Staff will answer practical and technical questions about the Nxu One Charging System.

Mission: Easy EV Charging

Nxu is on a mission to make EV charging easy. “Building on our successful megawatt+ charging demonstration in April, as well as our early compatibility with NACS in July, the focus on our EV charging product roadmap has concentrated our vision to make electric mobility viable,” said Nxu Founder, Chairman and CEO Mark Hanchett. He then goes on to speak the blunt truth. “The reality is that subpar charging experiences and widely diffused charging locations are turning consumers off from EVs. We need to make the charging experience as easy as gassing up a car, and until we put the time and resources into making that happen, we stand in our own way.”

An Nxu One Megawatt+ charging site is planned for Quartzsite, Arizona. The site is planned to be built at exit 19 on Interstate 10. This is a major freeway between Phoenix and Los Angeles. “The number of consumer EV and commercial truck drivers that are traveling longer distances, and need better, more customer-centric charging solutions, is growing by the day,” said Nxu Founder, Chairman and CEO Mark Hanchett. “The decision to advance our electric future should be rewarded with an efficient charging experience, not punished by long lines, unreliable technology, and slow charging. We’re honored to be partners in getting EV adopters from point A to point B with the consistency and confidence their gas-powered counterparts enjoy.” The company anticipates that construction will begin at the Quartzsite location in 2024 and offer charging to customers as soon as possible when construction is complete.
